Hills or Humidity?
Saturday morning I participated in the OUC Half Marathon. I was afraid it would rain. The forecast on weather.com called for scattered showers.
So When I got up early that morning, I checked the local doppler to see what I had in store. I was pleasantly suprised to see that it was crystal clear. I did notice that the humidity was at 97%...
I never really thought that much about how the humidity might have an effect my end result. Let's just say that at mile 10, I took my t-shirt off and rung out about a gallon of sweat.
My final time was 2:18:04. I was a little disappointed. I was hoping to beat my time in Clermont, but I was actually slower...
I guess I have to realize that every race can't be a PR. It's still disappointing.
We'll see how it goes this Sunday at the Gulf Beaches Halfathon. The weather is supposed to be a bit cooler. I'm looking forward to it!
